چکیده
Carbonaceous materials are a highly appealing class of adsorbents, owing to their exceptional properties, such as high surface area and thermal chemical stability. These have found successful applications in water purification. Sweet chestnut (Castanea sativa) cupules disposed waste. Valorization these residues is step forward terms circular economy sustainability. Meanwhile, per- poly-fluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) pose significant concerns due persistence, bioaccumulation, toxicity, emerging contaminants concern for human health the environment. This study focuses on preparing carbonaceous material by hydrothermal carbonization from cupules, followed use adsorbents PFAS removal polluted water. The cupule waste was crushed, ground, sieved, subjected treatment at temperatures ranging 180–200 °C produce carbons. obtained were characterized various techniques nitrogen adsorption isotherm, porosimetry, point zero charge, Fourier-transform infrared, scanning electron microscopy, thermal, elemental, energy dispersive X-ray analyses. Surface (SBET) values 42.3–53.2 m2·g−1 obtained; pHPZC ranged 3.8 4.8. also determined kinetics isotherms removing perfluorooctanoate-contaminated equilibrium established 72 h qe = 1029.47 mg·g−1. To summarize, this research successfully valorized biomass residue transforming it into carbon, which then utilized an adsorbent decontamination.

Hydrothermal Treatment of Municipal Solid Waste to Produce Solid Fuel
This paper describes the application of innovative hydrothermal technology on local municipal solid waste (MSW) to produce low chlorine content solid co-firing fuel with coal. Raw MSW was treated at temperatures ranging from 210 to 235°C with 30 to 90 minutes holding period. The process yielded slump products which were then naturally dried to 5% moisture content, resulted in dry products with ...

Water reclamation and reuse provides a unique and viable opportunity to augment traditional water supplies. As a multi-disciplined and important element of water resources development and management, water reuse can help to close the loop between water supply and wastewater disposal. Effective water reuse requires integration of water and reclaimed water supply functions. The successful develop...
متن کاملHydrothermal Liquefaction of Food Waste and Model Food Waste Compounds
Solid waste is generated at a rate of more than 4 lb per person per day. A significant portion of the non-recyclable waste is food waste, with high water content and low energy density. While most thermochemical conversion processes require a relatively dry feedstock, hydrothermal liquefaction uses subcritical water as the reaction medium and is therefore compatible with high-moisture feedstock...
